Theatre Works started working in primary and secondary schools in January 2001. Since then we have had the pleasure of working with young people in over 900 venues.

The company was founded by professional writers Ian Billings MA and Stephanie Dale BA (Hon) MA

We offer many creative and script writing opportunities to young people:

 

WRITING RESIDENCES
For the past four years we have been running fun, interactive writing workshops, making weekly visits to schools exploring character, setting and plot with KS2 and KS3.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We have taken on a number of larger scale school based community projects which enable students, of all ages, to create, write and perform their own plays. (See current and past work).

 

Working with one class we explore scriptwriting.

Day1: we look at writing tips and story structure.

Day2: we create, improvise and write the dialogue.

Day3: we rehearse and perform the play to the rest of the school.
